The vast fields of wheat cultivated in this nation are legendary and so bread has become a symbol of this nation and its ability to provide for its citizens. A loaf of bread with salt on top is often offered to guests. Even at weddings, bread is sometimes favored over cake because it represents the home and a prosperous new life.
